Welcome to Richard Williamson’s Shepherd Daylily Farm. We are located close to Holly Springs, Ms. (Zone 7) about 22 miles southeast of Memphis, Tn.
Shepherd Daylily Farm began in 1999 with 250 Stella De Oro daylilies that is a popular golden yellow repeat blooming daylily. New cultivars are added on a continuous basis. New varieties of daylilies have been added over the years from suggestions given by different daylily hybridizers, growers, and from The popularity polls.
The daylilies are freshly dug as two fan bare root divisions (soil removed from the roots) and shipped priority mail or UPS, which ever method we see is best for arriving to you safely and undamaged.
Growing the daylilies in raised beds by amending with organic soil conditioner and watering with overhead irrigation when needed gives our daylilies healthy roots, foliage, and flowers. With over 250 varieties available in a rainbow of colors, Shepherd Daylily Farm offers a great selection, for your landscape, Garden Center, or growing operation.
When is the best time to plant bare root daylilies?
In the north zone 6 and above, Spring planting is preferred. In the South zone 7 and below, Fall planting is best and also in the Spring. During the hottest months July, August, into September, it is best not to plant bare root daylilies, especially in the South.
Richard Williamson's Shepherd Daylily Farm is here to serve you with many different varieties of daylilies for your home garden or workplace. Daylilies also make a great gift for a friend, relative, or loved one.
Richard Williamson’s Shepherd Daylily Farm is open to the public, during the bloom season weekends only Sat 8-5, Sun 10-5. During this open garden sale customers can walk the rows of daylilies that are blooming in a vast sea of color. This gives you an opportunity to choose your selections, have our staff dig them while you sit in the shade, with a cold refreshment, so you can take them home with you.
